Gorillapod!

Another great news for those 'cam-whores' a.k.a service photographers, it's the Gorillapod. It has flexible joints that allows you to basically rotate and bend 360ยบ into any shape. It can grib almost anything you can think of. Gorillapod is lightweight, compact, bendable, wrappable and very easy to carry. You may also wrap it around your neck for fashion purpose *cough*. Price ranges from RM79-RM150, as it comes with 3 different types, Gorillapod Original, Gorillapod SLR and Gorillapod SLR Zoom. Shop it at ThinkGeek.com

Gadget Holsters

If the idea of being Batman, Han Solo, or just a gadget slinging office worker fills your mind, you'll want to check out the gadget shoulder holster (RM175++) and gadget hip holster (RM200++). Both holsters allow you to strap on your cell phone, iPod, pocket calculator and about anything else in true geek goodness. They're also good for holding at quick draw things like your keys, a pen and mouth spray.

Reef Dram Sandle

Reef came out with Reef Dram Sandal (RM150++). Not content to simply open alcoholic beverages, the Dram includes a polyurethane encapsulated flask in the heel, good for smuggling liquor into pretty much any event, but maybe not the night clubs as most of em' doesn't allow slippers!

Bench of the Future!

Seriously love this Drift-Bench, but sadly it comes in at a very high price RM45500, fooo! But it does have some cool constructions, with the curved bench being made from dark stained beech.

Polk Audio MiDock10

The Polk MiDock10 uses two 3.25-inch full-range drivers with a ported enclosure to produce big sound, and includes an auxiliary port for other inputs, a headphone jack, and a connector to keep your 'Pod connected to your computer while it's in the MiDock10. It also charges the iPod while playing, and will run off wall power or eight C-cell batteries. Built-in handles and a stylish black finish add to what is already an attractive system for the price.

Levitating Desktop Globe

Now you can watch the world the way it was meant to be seen. It uses an electromagnet and computerize sensor which allows you to pass your hand above or below the globe without stoppage in floating. I wouldn't mind to have this on my very own office desk.

Privacy Screen Protector for iPod

For those who don't like sharing their screen with other people while watching a movie, photos or just too embarrased to show the current music you're playing, here's just the thing for you, the iPod Video Privacy Screen by iStyles. Price are at about RM35, almost the same price as average screen protector you get on the market now. Of course it's only ideal for the iPod video.

While it may protect you from people beside you (who probably thinks you're crazy for laughing at blank screen), it still won't stop people from behind you!

Digital WiFi Detector

Okay, previously we had a 'Bunny' that feeds on WiFi. Now there's a Digital WiFi dog sniffer. Hmm I mean Digital WiFi Detector.

How many of you find it troublesome trying to locate a WiFi hotspot by trying to switch on your Laptop especially, having to need to load your OS for 5 minutes and then only you can check for connections. But with this little gadget, all you need is to switch it on and it'll start sniffing for WiFi hotspots.

Your typical WiFi detector will only show the presence of a signal and relative signal strength - not very helpful. This Digital WiFi Detector has a backlit LCD screen that provides information on signal availability and strength as well as essential network information, including SSID, security status and channel. When multiple networks are present, the LCD will allow you to scroll through information for each network. It also Identifies 802.11b and 802.11g networks.

Currently you can get it at ThinkGeek.com for about RM250++ ($69.99). I do think it's pricey, but hey it's very useful if you're always constantly on the need of WiFi connections, just like our Nabaztag Bunny. Eventually Taiwan or China will probably produce one this and sell it cheaper.

Walkman Phone with Style

Sony Ericsson has recently introduced a new member of the Walkman Phone family, the sleek W660i. The new phone emphasizes on style and design, obviously aiming at the fashion-conscious young adults. Coming in two gorgeous colours, Record Black and Rose Red, the W660i just screams for attention.

W660i has the same basic features and good sound quality like the rest of the Walkman phone family. Bundled with 512mb Memory Stick Micro, you get to keep a sizable music collections. The phone comes with a 2.0 megapixels camera, and what's even cooler, is that it has picture blogging capability, a function that lets you take a picture and send it straight to a live blog! Great for bloggers. :)

Speaking of the camera, I can't stop but drool over the beautiful motif on the Rose Red version. Still personally, I prefer the black and gold combo.

The new W660i will be available soon.

Can't wait to get my hands on it!

MP3-player Sony S700 Series

I seem to be researching a lot in non-ipod gadget out on the market that's small and has FM Tuner built-in. This nifty little gadget caught my eye recently. It's the Sony S700 Walkman series. Currently available in 1/2/4 GB storage.

The player builds on flash-memory, comes with a color OLED display and an FM-tuner. Apart from all that it has another highlight that characterizes this offering against the backdrop of the market. To be precise, this feature has nothing to do with the player itself – it is the bundled noise cancelling headphones. Such “frills” are not a rare occasion among clip-on and over-band type headsets, but the in-ear “form-factor” presence of this system is an utterly crucial and newsworthy fact.

The fact is, metal in the chassis of just about any device coming from the family of personal electronics adds a few points to its appeal automatically. Luckily, it seems, Sony is also aware of that. And what is more, they regularly apply this knowledge to the line-up. Hence, the S705F utilizes some metal as well, specifically its chrome-coated metal / plastic in the construction ratio is almost 50/50.

only one word to describe it.....kewwll.

USB Cannon

Bored in the office? Feel like shooting someone? How about a USB Cannon, which you can aim and shoot up to about 10 feet from you PC! It has cool sound effects (not like I've heard it before tho).

It's not only fun to play with, but just imagine the whole office having 1 each at their desk and soon you know your 'Boss' might just fire you. Anyway, visit vat19.com and get one for yourself, while I'm still hoping for freebie for writing this up. Current price is RM120 ($34.95).

Quik Pod

For those 'cam-whore' or rather the one who like to do 'self-service' photography, check out 'Quik Pod'. It allows you hold camera or camcoder at a distance so you can take a proper picture of yourself or partner.

Available at iwantoneofthose at about RM125

Xbox 360 is Still Number 1

The Xbox 360 is till number 1 before Wii and PS3. I suppose the 1 year head-start is an advantage.

The latest estimated U.S retail sales numbers of market research company NPD group show:
  1. Xbox 360, 5.1 million
  2. Nintendo Wii, 1.9 million
  3. Sony PS3, 1.1 million
With numbers like that, Sony is not making any gains on Microsoft anytime soon as analyst calls a price-cut for the PS3 critical for success.

Samsung Q1 Ultra Mobile PC

The new Samsung Q1 UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC). The compact device is packed with integrated thumb buttons, smaller form factor than the Q1, lighter weight, 1,024x600px resolution, HSDPA, 60GB disk, WiFi, Bluetooth and runs Vista Home Premium, and many other things that you'd expect from a Laptop.

It's definitely has touch screen display and the best part is also the VoIP with Twin Array microphone, what does this mean? Check out the website at Samsung to get better details and understanding.

Humping Dog Thumbdrive

Want something new for your USB thumbdrive? Well, it started of with the infamous USB humping dog, which is nothing but an accessory for your computer and does nothing but humps.

So what happen was, a modder took apart the Humping dog and added a Flash Memory to it. But the initial plan was just to embed it inside the dog, but he found out there isn't any space left for memory component. So he went for plan B, which he solder the parts outside.

So dig this, the 'humping' action only happens where's the memory is being accessed. Anyway, this device isn't available on the market yet.

Sony's WiFi Digital Camera

Sony has released their first digital camera with built-in Wi-Fi. The latest in the Cyber-Shot line, the G1 incorporates 801.22b/g wireless, allowing you to upload instantly from any hotspot. You can also store up to 2GB in case you're nowhere near a Wi-Fi zone. Professionals and amateurs alike will appreciate that kind of functionality.

The camera is an above-average one in terms of specs, with a modest 6 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom. You'll appreciate the optical image stabilization and the larger-than-usual LCD, which reports in at 3.5 inches.

The last feature of note is the ability to shoot VGA movies, which you can also upload. Speed in that regard is probably limited only by the amount of bandwidth your hotspot allocates to uploading.

The Cyber-Shot G1 will be available in April, at a price of RM2000++.

Alpine iDA-X001

If you listen almost exclusively to your iPod in your car, you've probably been waiting for a head unit like this. The Alpine iDA-X001 (RM1600++; April 2007) lets you hook up your iPod via a high-speed USB connection, and then browse it from the iDA's 2.2" screen, just like you would if it was in your hand. Rabbit that feeds on WiFi

The Nabaztag WiFi smart Rabbit. If you think you're bored online everyday, then this rabbit is definately right for you. How smart is the rabbit? Well let just say, it can teach you Tai-Chi, pull RSS Feeds, read your email, report the weather or even stock market and tell you the time.

The really cool thing about this bunny, that it can marry other rabbit, it'll copy the other rabbit's movement even. Move its ear and the spouse will too. As far as happiness is concerned, this bunny can let you know when you have new e-mail and will be unhappy if he thinks he's not receiving enough messages.

Available for purchase now at: Nabaztag Store.

Next Gen Zune

The ever 'kiasu' Microsoft has announce that they will be releasing the Next Generation Zune in August. I'm not wheter it'll be a much improvement to the current one, which I heard not that great.. But this new baby will definately have video game support, a portable xbox? I don't think so, but it'll be something like Tetris, Bejeweled, Solitaire, etc. Probably bigger capacity with hard drive too.

HP's iPaq 510

iPaq 510 Voice MessengerHP unveiled their latest smartphone, iPaq 510 Voice Messenger. Not only it's the first non touchscreen from HP, but it'll be the first one to run the latest Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.

The phone comes with 128MB of internal memory, 64MB RAM and it has a 1.3 megapixel camera. But a 1.3 megapixel? Personally I think it should be better than that, most phones are now running at least a 2.0 megapixel and it should be the least standard camera quality for phones.

Aside that this phone is quad-band and also has a voice command functions, which i heard you'd be able to command almost everything, including playing music, etc. It's also bundled with Wireless connectivity, WiFi and Bluetooth. Only other thing is, it's not a 3G phone. No price available yet, but it'll be due out in Asia in April.

iPod ecosystem

I have to admit that I ain't a iPod lover but here are some pretty cool accessories/add-ons for those iPod wannabes.

Apple TV!

If it's on iTunes, it's on TV.. Apple TV is one of the latest product they came out with, which I suppose to fully utilized the iTunes store, where you can actually purchase and download movies. So that means, you still need to connect this baby to a PC/Mac and then it'll sync with your iTunes.

Best thing about this baby is, it outputs the video quality into HD. But the downside is, it needs a widescreen TV, which I think not everyone have at home. It only plays video formats which you download from iTunes store, and it's protected. No DVD playback and what-so-ever. No recording feature, and doesn't support 5.1 Surround Sound system. It also comes with Apple Remote, which basically like it's iPod's controls, simple. Other features are audio playback (MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF) and photos (JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, PNG).

Apple TV would not be available til Mid-March, that means it's really soon and it's costing about $299.00 in US, which means it'll be about RM 1200 ++, if it ever reaches here in Malaysia.

For more info, obviously go to Apple website.

X-Ray pots

Fancy growing some greens in your office cubical or your little room? This product is perfect for it. Personally I'm very much into minimalistic stuff.

The pots can be configured in several ways, including an “X” shape or in a straight line or in an “L” shape. The pots are good for growing a range of herbs, plants or wheatgrass.

But this 'simple' pot comes with a great price, it's close to RM500 and it's available for purchase online at Vitamin Living

Tooth-brush

Forgot to brush your teeth? This "Tooth"-brush holder is really cool to have in your bathroom. Common, it'll basically reminds you to brush your teeth every time you see it. Price at about $17.00, that's about RM 60.00.
