Nokia 6500 Classic

Now that Nokia has officially found their way into the slim cell phone market, they're attacking it head on with some of their best offerings to date. The Finnish mobile phone maker has just announced the slim 6500 Classic and the 6500 Slide, both of which feature 3G support.

Targeted at the mid-range market, the Nokia 6500 Classic comes with a large, ergonomic keypad, as well as 1GB of internal memory, S40 interface, integrated media player, 2 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, and a microUSB port. Best of all, the whole anodized aluminum package is a mere 9.5mm thick.

Exciting New Cordless Headphone, specially for Shuffle!

How cool is this? A headphone that's perfect for iPod shuffle, the Monster iFreePlay. Now this is truly wireless/cordless. It just make sense to fit a shuffle up there, since you don't need to look at what's currently plays, coz it doesn't have any screen!

Well of course you can fit in any other audio device too, just that you might need to get a jack-converter for it. But what would be funny tho, imagine sticking an iPod video up there, that'll be weird and heavy! The price should be around RM150-200++.

Wow to the world's slimmest Notebook!

Introducing, the Intel Mobile Metro Notebook -- co-created with Ziba Design -- measures just 0.7 inches and barely moves the needle on the scale at a mere 2.25 pounds, that's less than 1kg fyi.

The prototype laptop hasn't received any official technical specifications yet, but Intel promises that they will fatten her up without actually fattening her up, plopping in their speediest and most efficient components. The chassis is a champagne-toned magnesium, whereas the magnetically attached folder "will be available in different fashion colors." The folder is used to charge the lappy without wires and it looks like it has a secondary color display for the whole Vista Sideshow dance too.

It will also come with WiFi, EVDO, WiMAX, a flash memory hard drive, and beautiful gold accents. They're even claiming a battery life of, get this, 14 freaking hours. The best part is that the Intel Mobile Metro Notebook could be ready for consumer consumption as early as the end of this year. But it won't be cheap.

8GB Nokia N81!

Check out the latest Nokia N81's specs. It has 8GB of memory! Imagine that memory size in device that small. As usual it have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. Talk and surf capabilities incorporate 3G, EDGE, and HSDPA.

So as a 3G phone it has 2 cameras, a 2.0 Megapixel and CIF. It has a music player, which can play up to 12.5 hours. Dedicated music and gaming keys, which suggests one-touch. It also has a navigation wheel.

Pricewise, I think it's definately above RM3k!

Canon HR10 HD Camcorder

Canon's new HR10 HD Camcorder is certainly one of the easiest ways yet for the home consumer to capture HD video. Can record up to a full 1920x1080 resolution and put the results directly onto a mini DVD that can be viewed on a Blu-Ray or AVCHD compatible DVD player. The 2.7 inch LCD is viewable from a full 135 degrees off-center and has a much better color range than what we are used to. The camera is due this year, and the price will be pricey!

Altec Lansing inMotion iMV712

Altec Lansing has announced its Altec Lansing inMotion iMV712, an elegant, all exclusive for 'iPod Video'. This dock comes with 8.5" inch display and 4" inch subwoofer, which make the iPod Video all for the better entertainment system. It also claims to give you a 'concert-like sound and a true cinematic video experience', but I've yet to try it first, since I haven't seen any yet in Malaysia. They said this is not like the average dock speaker, as it's fitted also with Altec Lansing SFX (Stereo Field Expander), a technology that makes the speakers sound further apart than they actually are. I think the going price is about RM1200++.

A Shuffle with display?

Imagine an iPod but with a display. Matthias Lange has taken the 'clip' idea from the iPod and put a little display on it, which at the end, in my opinion looks a like 'pager'. But anyhow, it has a curvy design which fits perfectly on your pocket. While the orange bits make it more appealing.
Not sure about when it's coming out or how much it cost, but this Pocket MP3 is definitely in my wish list.

Microsoft Silverlight

Today, Microsoft announced the first public versions of its Silverlight application for creating and experiencing rich, interactive applications online. There are two different versions of the cross-browser plug-in: Silverlight 1.0 beta (download for Windows or Mac) and Silverlight 1.1 alpha (download for Windows or Mac).

The big difference between 1.0 beta and 1.1 alpha versions is that the 1.1 alpha allows developers to create Silverlight applications using .NET technologies such as C#. If you don't care much about that new advancement, you probably won't be too excited about some of the sample Silverlight applications that have been created.

To be fair, the downloads of the client only went public today, but the Silverlight gallery of applications is quite slim--eight for the 1.0 beta and seven for the 1.1 alpha, several of which are identical. The two that jumped out at me were the Grand Piano (for 1.0 beta) and Chess (for 1.1 alpha) applications. Grand Piano lets you play a full octave of a virtual piano via keyboard or mouse, and Chess provides a gaming environment with pluggable AI and two gameplay algorithms in both C# and JavaScript.

Sony Walkman goes Drag & Drop

Some people have avoided getting a Sony MP3 player because of the dreaded SonicStage software that is required to transfer music to and from their portable devices. With the Sony B100 Walkman, however, you will be able to cast SonicStage aside in favor of good ol' drag-and-drop.

It hasn't been confirmed, but it appears that the B100 will show up via USB Mass Storage, allowing you to plunk in your musical content without having to go through that hideous SonicStage filter. what's more, the B100 will handle MP3s, non-DRM WMAs, and possibly even AAC. They might even abandon ATRAC while they're at it.

No word on price or availability, but Sony might actually make some headway against you-know-who with this development.

Getting Compaq V3000TU series

If you ever consider to get a laptop, in particularly the Compaq V3000TU series, here are few thing you should know.
I just bought a Compaq v3204TU, a Centrino Core 2 Duo (1.66GHz), although I wanted the AMD Turion version, but since it's not in stock, I just have to go by Intel. Well so far I'm quite satisfied with it. But the default RAM is 512MB and the machine is loaded with Windows Vista Home Basic and people! If they say the minimum requirement is 512MB, it's not true. It's running very slow and the UI are jerky!
I had to up my RAM to another 512MB to make it a 1GB, then only the Vista are to run smoothly. It did make a huge different, I can't wait to up it 2GB next month. I found a shop that's selling the 1GB RAM at RM160, it could go cheaper I think. Another thing to get is the Cooling Pad. The harddisk is located at the front near where your palm is going to rest, and it gets heaty quite fast. There's also a nice cool Compaq 'Quick Media Button', but it makes a tick sound which you can't turn off.
Anyway, for the price of RM3299 for this machine, I think it's worth it, aside upgrading the RAM. Check out the spec at NotebookReview.com

Sony Ericsson goes green with W999i.

You know that Sony Ericsson are entering the 'Skinny' phone market, but what you didn't know that they have change their feel from Orange to Green. Well, its not a bad taste, after all green is my favorite color.

W999i is the latest Walkman edition from them, judging from the series number, will this be the last one? This model is 12.5mm thick. It also combines the the same SureType-like keyboard as the business oriented M600. Other than that it has the same 2.0 Megapixel camera, 2.4-inch color display and high-speed HSDPA connectivity.

Sony Ericcson's New W880i Commercial - “It’s Romantic”

Sony released their latest Walkman™ phone, W880i, it's weird to look at for the first time, but after awhile you'll fall for its simplicity design. I like the black ones especially. Did I say it's slim too? Just like a candy bar. I think it's one of the slimmest 3G phones available. You have to watch the commercial, it's pretty romantic.

Yap, if you planning to get a PC, but you are that kinda person who looks for a branded 1. Then my advice is, bevery careful with what you choose.Take for example this HP Paviliona5000 series from HP. Yap, it looksvery cool…. Equip with Intel Core 2Duo CPU, shiny case, cooldesign, “SATA DVD Writer”, SATA HardDisk, and it comes with Windows Vistatoo. WOW! Windows Vista!!! Ok, the nightmare with this HP Series is that, let say you have a program that don’t support Windows Vista. Surely you willsay, “Ok, I’ll just install Windows XP lor or any older version”. You won’t find Windows XP orany older version of Windows driver there sir. Try compatible driver? Hehehe yeah, try Google, Yahoo, or anysearch engine, hope you can find it. Oh ya, just now I mentioned it used SATA DVD Writer right? You won’t be able to install anything from your CD if you don’t have the motherboard SATA RAID driver. You have to install the motherboard SATA RAID driver then you can use the DVD Writer drive. Not only that how about your graphic driver,sound driver, chipset driver, and all? What a waste huh? I wonder why HP doing this while Vista is still in its early release stage. So, when you are planning to get any PC’s thingy.Please do some research ok? Don’t regret it later. Apple introduced their latest Mac Pro machine. And claimed that it has raised the bar, the world's first 3.0GHz, 8-core Intel Xeon-based Mac Pro.

You can actually opt to from 8 core to 4 and this baby runs 2x faster than the Power Mac G5 Quad. Price now ranges from RM 8,700++ to RM 13,000++ depending on the specs you choose.
